The bill of sale is required when trying to register and get the title for the new owner at the division of vehicles in Kansas. It must be signed and notarized before it’s considered valid. In addition to the bill of sale, an odometer disclosure form is required for vehicles newer than 20 years old and under 16,000 pounds.
In Kansas, someone that purchases a vehicle from a private seller must register the said vehicle within sixty days of the transaction date. If, on the other hand, the vehicle is being transferred from out of state, it must be registered within the first ninety days of the transfer to Kansas.
